How to temporarily stop the processing of CIF Queues - This blog will gives you the ability to set locks for specific queue names with the following Function Modules:

CIF_INBOUND_LOCK

CIF_OUTBOUND_LOCK

/SAPAPO/CIF_INBOUND_LOCK

/SAPAPO/CIF_OUTBOUND_LOCK

These locks can be released using the following Function Modules:

CIF_INBOUND_RESTART

CIF_OUTBOUND_RESTART

/SAPAPO/CIF_INBOUND_RESTART

/SAPAPO/CIF_OUTBOUND_RESTART

Creating/Releasing Locks for Outbound Queues

If you would like to set or release a lock for the Outbound Queues, you should use the following FMs:

In SCM:

/SAPAPO/CIF_OUTBOUND_LOCK

/SAPAPO/CIF_OUTBOUND_RESTART

In R/3:

CIF_OUTBOUND_LOCK

CIF_OUTBOUND_RESTART

The system will ask you to fill the queue name (e.g. CF*, CFPO*, CFEP*, CFIP*, CFPLO*).

It is mandatory that you fill the Destination Logical System as well.

Creating/Releasing Locks for Inbound Queues

If you would like to set or release a lock for the Inbound Queues, you should use the following FMs instead:

In SCM:

/SAPAPO/CIF_INBOUND_LOCK

/SAPAPO/CIF_INBOUND_RESTART

In R/3:

CIF_INBOUND_LOCK

CIF_INBOUND_RESTART

The system will ask you to fill the queue name (e.g. CF*, CFPO*, CFEP*, CFIP*, CFPLO*).

Explanation of the "Force" flag

If you set the IV_FORCE parameter, the following behavior will occur:

The lock will be created at the top of the queue, as can be visible in SMQ1 or SMQ2;

The scheduler will finish processing all RUNNING queues;

The scheduler will not pick up any queues matching the lock criteria (e.g. CF*);

If you don't set the IV_FORCE parameter, the following occurs:

The lock will be created at the end of the queue, behind all already existing queues;

All newly created queues will be created after the lock queue;

The scheduler will process all existing queues normally and sequentially until the lock reaches the top of the queue;

The scheduler will then no longer pick up any queues matching the lock criteria that were created after the lock was set;
