This blog will cover Send SAP Spool output to email from Background Jobs-Any standard or custom programs can be scheduled in background and the spool will be generated and the same Spool output will be sent to respective email address. No need to create or enhance the program just simple steps required to achieve this email sending functionality from spool output in SAP.

Scenario: Purchase order create or change will be happening either online or BAPI or any other methods. In PO message Dispatch time will be 3. Send with application own transaction. Transaction ME9F can be used to printing the output.

Step 1) Go to the transaction code ME9F

We can give document type, document date but this report will be shown only the pending print forms


Step 2) Press F9

Choose immediate

Step 3) Choose output device


Step 4) Choose immediate, and select how you want to schedule either daily/weekly and so on


Step 5) Go to transaction code SM37


Step 6) Select the row and change the job



Step 7) Add your email recipients

Note: SAPoffice: Distribution Lists can be created using the transaction SO23.

Send: Copy

If you select this field, the user receives the document as a copy. This means the user receives the document for his/her information and does not need to take any action.

Send: Copy

Send: No forwarding

If you select this field, the recipient cannot forward this document to other users.

Step 8) Finally save and release your job

Now check your spool record and SOST as well.

Troubleshooting : There are variety of errors possible with email.  If the users don't get the email, or there is a problem with it,  checking that the output was written to the spool (use transaction SP01 or SM37).
